Beyond Recognition

Beyond the edge of town,

Lives a grumpy man,

He has nothing to be grumpy with,

But he’s grumpy “cos he can”,

But look beyond the anger,

Past his cynicism tone,

He once was not a grumpy man,

He once was not alone,

So whilst he’ll spit on pity,

And reject your gentle plea,

Please spare a thought for the man,

The man you see, is me.
